DOE Energy Audit at TUPT

On January 30, 2025, the Department of Energy - Energy Utilization Management Bureau (DOE-EUMB) conducted a comprehensive Energy Audit at TUP-Taguig, meticulously assessing the university’s annual energy and fuel consumption. The audit aimed to evaluate the institution’s existing energy-saving practices, programs, and strategies, ensuring they align with national energy conservation goals. By undergoing this rigorous evaluation, TUP-Taguig demonstrates its proactive approach to sustainability, recognizing the importance of responsible energy management in mitigating environmental impact and promoting efficiency within its operations. The audit not only serves as a diagnostic tool for identifying areas for improvement but also highlights the university’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable practices into its daily activities.

The Energy Audit was conducted by DOE-EUMB Certified Energy Auditors in accordance with Department Circular (DC) 2023-12-0034, which mandates strict monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of energy conservation efforts. This directive ensures that institutions like TUP-Taguig remain compliant with national energy efficiency programs while fostering a culture of sustainability within their communities. By adhering to these policies, the university is taking significant strides toward reducing energy wastage and optimizing resource utilization. The audit also provides valuable insights that will guide the implementation of future energy conservation measures, reinforcing TUP-Taguig’s role as a responsible academic institution committed to environmental stewardship.

This initiative was made possible through the diligent efforts of the TUPT Energy Efficiency Committee, spearheaded by Focal Person Engr. James Karl Hernandez and supported by committee members Engr. Jediah Puertollano, Engr. Roilene Candelaria-Pagatpat, and Engr. Enrico Tungcul. Their commitment to preparing for and facilitating the audit underscores the university’s dedication to energy efficiency and continuous improvement. By actively participating in such assessments, TUP-Taguig reaffirms its mission to integrate sustainability into its institutional framework, fostering an environmentally conscious academic community.
